Steve Jacks - Director

Hi, I am Steve Jacks. I originally trained as a diesel mechanic, moving on to a few years in field service and then a few more years in parts before purchasing 50% of the company in 1992. I then went on to purchase the remainder in 2011 and I am currently the managing director. My interest in things mechanical has meant a lifelong involvement in agricultural machinery, bikes, boats and aero planes. I have gained an advanced trade certificate in heavy engineering, a marine trawlers engineering certificate, a heavy truck and trailer licence, private pilot’s licence, and a marine commercial skipper's licence. Passionate about all things farming, my wife Vicky and I, have grown sweetcorn and farmed deer, goats, cattle, and horses, and now reside on a small block on the Ohiwa harbour.

Bruce Donald - Sales - Whakatane/Gisborne

Hi, I am Brucie Donald. I am a salesman for Jacks Machinery. I am based and live in Whakatane. I have been in the Agricultural and Machinery Trade for 20 plus years. Working 11 of them at Jacks Machinery. Before this I spent time in the Police Force, and it shows. In between I have had other sales experience in various areas. I am married to Sue Donald with 6 children between us and 10 grandchildren. I really enjoy the variety of work we do and people we meet. It keeps me chasing and learning.

Daniel Benjamin - Sales - Whakatane

Hi, I am Dan Benjamin. I am a salesman at Jacks Machinery. Before making the move to Jacks, I started out working within the civil maintenance and construction industry. Over 10 years I gained my level 4 certificate in civil infrastructure. Although I have a love for heavy machinery, I decided to make the move into sales. I very much enjoy assisting customers in finding solutions within the industry they work, and I find satisfaction in watching their development whether their business is just starting off or already thriving. I am based and live in Whakatane with my wife Holly Benjamin of 3 and half years and counting, along with our 3 boys. We are now expecting our 4th boy due in June. They will keep me on my toes!

Steve Donoghue - Sales - Katikati

Hi, I am Steve Donoghue. I am a salesman for Jacks Machinery. I am based and live in Katikati. I emigrated to New Zealand from the UK in 2008. I have worked for Jacks Machinery since 2016. Having come from a large German company selling automotive consumables in both New Zealand and the UK. I cannot believe I get paid to play with tractors-it is my inner child coming out! On the weekends, I love to enjoy the many pleasures of the bay and drive my Polaris RZR. Every day is good in the Bay of Plenty.

Peter Rust - Workshop Manager - Tractors & Machinery

Hi, I am Peter Rust. I am the workshop manager for Tractors and Machinery at Jacks Machinery. I came to work for Jacks Machinery right out of school, at the young age of 16. I have now been apart of the Jacks team for 16 years and in that time, I have become a qualified heavy diesel technician. I have also completed factory training over multiple different brands of machinery. In January 2020, I married my wife José who is a qualified teacher in Whakatane. Over the years, we have travelled abroad to many different locations and created many long-lasting memories.


Mark Warner - Workshop Manager - Bikes & Mowers

Hi, I am Mark Warner. I am the workshop manager for ATV’s and Bikes at Jacks Machinery. In 2004, my family and I moved to Invercargill from the UK. After 10 years, we decided to move to Whakatane for the warm weather. I have been working for Jacks Machinery for 4 years as of April. In this time due to restructuring within the business, I went from being a service manager to a mechanic to workshop manager for ATV’s and Bikes. Before moving to NZ, I became a qualified motor vehicle mechanic and completed an IMI Certificate in Management. After moving to NZ, I gained a certificate in Civil Plant Operations. Over the years, I have had several years’ experience as a mechanic, workshop foreman, farm hand, WOF inspector, motorcycle mechanic, service manager and field mechanic.

Wade Bolger - Parts Manager

Hi, I am Wade Bolger. I handle various parts department and customer service tasks at Jacks Machinery. I originally started out as a motorbike mechanic working for a couple Honda dealers and during my time there, I became qualified. I have been working at Jacks Machinery for about 12 years in the parts department. During my time here, I have completed a National Certificate in Motor Industry Automotive Parts and Accessories Merchandising Level 3 and a Certificate in Competency for Hydraulic Hoses. For the last year I have been in the Managers position running the Parts Department and love the day to day challenge it brings.

Bruce Pittams - Administration

Hi, I am Bruce Pittams. I handle various admin and customer service tasks at Jacks Machinery. I have worked at Jacks Machinery since 2004. I have a varied working background from greenkeeping to rolling pastry. I have 4 years’ experience in indoor plant industry and 12 years’ experience as a Sydney Courier whilst working part time in the fitness industry over 10 years. I enjoy keeping fit, playing and competing in 8 ball and an occasional home brew or two.

Chrystal Louise - Customer Service

Hi, I am Chrystal Louise. I am the customer service and administration assistant for Jacks Machinery. I moved to Whakatane from Wanganui, straight after graduating high school in 2016. I have 6 years customer service experience through working for supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants both in Wanganui and Whakatane. I was grateful enough to make the career change into admin in June of 2019. I have been able to push myself and learn a lot about the farming industry and I have also picked up a few skills from learning to drive a side by side all the way to operating a forklift. Whilst working for Jacks, I have been able to continue my love for events by working with two event companies both in Whakatane and Taupo. I love the great variety it brings to my work life.
